Qualaquin®) to treat uncomplicated (or mild)
malaria. This medication is only available by prescription and comes in just one strength (324 mg).
Available in the form of capsules (pills), quinine works to cure malaria by killing the parasite that causes this blood infection. Although most people tolerate the medicine well, side effects are possible and may include
headaches, nausea, and dizziness.
This medication is usually taken by mouth three times daily for seven days. Even if you feel better after a couple of days of using quinine, it is important to continue taking the medication for as long as your healthcare provider recommends.
