Dosing Information

The dosage your healthcare provider recommends will vary depending on the specific reason you are taking primaquine, as well as other medical conditions you may have.

Side Effects of Primaquine

Just like any medicine, primaquine can cause side effects. However, not everyone who takes the drug will experience problems. Most people tolerate it quite well.
Common side effects of primaquine include but are not limited to:
  • Nausea and vomiting
  • Stomach upset
  • Abdominal (stomach) cramps
  • Diarrhea.
If reactions do occur, in most cases, they are minor and either require no treatment or are treated easily by you or your healthcare provider. Serious side effects are less common.
