Larium

If you have malaria or want to prevent it, you may benefit from the prescription medication Lariam® (mefloquine hydrochloride). Available in tablet form, this medicine is taken as a one-time dose (to treat malaria) or on a weekly basis for several weeks (to prevent malaria). It works by killing the parasite that causes malaria. Possible side effects include dizziness, vomiting, and diarrhea.
