How to Store Chloroquine

Chloroquine phosphate (Aralen®) is used as a treatment for malaria and another parasitic infection known as extraintestinal amebiasis. It is also used to prevent malaria. To help ensure the safely, potency, and effectiveness of this drug, it's important to know how to store chloroquine properly.

Chloroquine needs to be stored in a tightly closed container, away from moisture and heat. It's also important that the medication be kept at room temperature. Be sure to keep chloroquine out of the reach of children. Children are very sensitive to this medication, and even small accidental overdoses can be lethal.
