Chlorquine

Chloroquine phosphate (Aralen®) is approved to treat and prevent malaria. It can also be used to treat another parasitic infection known as extraintestinal amebiasis. The medication is thought to work by killing the parasites that cause these conditions, perhaps by interfering with the parasites' DNA. Although most people most people are able to take it without any problems, side effects are possible and may include things like headache, vomiting, and skin rash.
