Welcome to the Malaria Channel
Malaria is a potentially fatal condition caused by an infection with a parasite called Plasmodium. It is usually transmitted through the bite of an infected female Anopheles mosquito. It can also be spread through contact with infected blood, but this is rare. Malaria is not transmitted from person to person, like the common cold or the flu. Common symptoms include fever, chills, diarrhea, and sweating. Treatment will depend on the severity of the disease and the type of parasite responsible for infection, among other things.
